Anti Bullying

At Kingswood we are committed to providing a safe, caring and friendly environment for all our pupils to allow them to learn effectively in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. We expect all pupils to feel safe in school and we also want them to feel confident to seek support from school should they ever feel unsafe. Bullying of any kind is not tolerated and is unacceptable at our school.

The school has reviewed its policy with staff, children and governors and a group of parents.

The School Council children have produced their own child version of this policy.

Each year the school has anti-bullying themed days led by Mrs Blackburn, the anti-bullying coordinator. These days enable children to learn what bullying is, the different forms bullying can take and what children should do if they feel they are being bullied. As part of the PSHE curriculum, children also learn about on line safety, friendship, respect and kindness.

An information meeting for parents was held to discuss behaviour and anti bullying in more detail. See below for the presentation.

In May 2016, Kingswood was awarded the SILVER LEVEL of the Surrey Anti-Bullying Charter Mark Award following a very rigorous review of the school's procedures and policies. We continue to strive to uphold the values accredited in this award.
