We strongly believe that reading is a vital life skill and we strive for all children to enjoy and value it. It is our aim to develop and create passionate readers for life. Reading has a high profile at Kingswood and high quality texts are chosen to support the teaching of reading. It is taught through whole class teaching and the reading and writing themes are closely linked. Children who lack confidence in reading will have additional opportunities to read in groups or as individuals with an adult.

The school has a well stocked library in order for children to have opportunities to read a range of books.
