If you would like to volunteer in school on a regular basis or to help on a one off occassion, i.e. a school trip or event, please speak to your child's teacher. We always appreciate offers of help but sometimes it is difficult to accept help from everyone due to classroom space and / or availability times. Sometimes we may be able to place you in another class.
We require our regular volunteers to have an Enhanced + Children's Barred List DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. We also ask that volunteers apply for the DBS Update Service within 28 days of the DBS check issue date. This will enable the school to run a very quick check, with your consent, if you have not been able to volunteer for three months. Volunteers for one-off events will not require a DBS check, as they will be supervised by an adult with a DBS check at all times. Before any volunteers start helping in school, they have to attend a safeguarding meeting with the Head Teacher who will go over expectations and key information which includes safeguarding and child protection. All volunteers have to sign and agree a code of conduct.
If we have asked you to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service check, please use the online application form, link below. The organisation reference and password will need to be obtained from the school office before the application can be started.
Full details of how to complete the application are also attached below.
Once you have completed the online application, you will need to bring your identification documents to the school office so that we can complete and submit our section of the disclosure application.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.
