Children > Home learning support and guidance during school closure
The school runs three residential trips in KS2 to enrich and enhance the children's education.
In Year 4 the children spend three days at Hindleap Warren (Ashdown Forest) which is an outdoor learning centre focusing on building self-esteem and confidence through challenging and adventurous activities.
In Year 5 the children camp over night at High Ashurst and experience some outdoor activities as well as curriculum based learning at Boxhill with the National Trust education team.
In Year 6 the children spend three days in France in order to broaden their cultural experiences. The children have an opportunity to speak French, visit a boulangerie (and make croissants), visit the Etaples war cemetery, visit a French market and spend time in a French primary school.
Kingswood has formed a link with L'ecole de Paturelle in Baincthun and the children write letters to their Fench friends. We visited the school in March 201, 2018 and 2019 and were made to feel so welcome. The two groups of children introduced themselves in the language they had been learning at school, played games and ate lunch together. The French children visited Kingswood in the summer of 2018.
